(*55*), August 16, 2022A stretch of Highway 55 close to the Station 73 Transit Center in Plymouth will obtain a number of upgrades in the approaching years that may make it higher for pedestrians, bikes, buses, and vehicles.

A federal grant of $15 million will go towards the estimated $25 million price ticket for the challenge. Improvements could be coordinated with partnering companies like MnDOT, Met Council, Hennepin County, and Three Rivers Park District and phased in over just a few years beginning in 2023.
Other TRIP enhancements would come with:
- Reconstructing 0.2 miles of Highway 55 with improved pavement
- Adding two in-line bus platforms on Highway 55 for sooner, extra handy service
- Constructing one mile of new multi-use path connection, which might additionally embody an underpass below Highway 55. This would hyperlink to regional trails and embody a railroad path crossing.
- Constructing a pedestrian refuge
- Constructing a brand new roundabout on the intersection of South Shore Drive and tenth Avenue North to enhance visitors circulation
