Rideshare driver George is battered and bruised.
He’s simply been launched from hospital following a brutal assault by a passenger, and he known as A Current Affair for assist.
“This is bigger than me. This needs to stop. Drivers need to have a voice,” George advised a Current Affair.
George works for Rideshare firm, Ola, in Sydney.

On Sunday evening he picked up two passengers from a pub.
“He said that he was a police officer and basically that he didn’t need to wear a mask,” George stated.
“He gave me a badge number. I requested then that he and his passenger had to go get a mask, or I couldn’t take them,”
George says he dropped off the primary passenger, and continued to the following vacation spot.
“Then he kept on swearing at me, saying ‘you’re a grub, I’m going to give you zero stars, you’re going to lose your job. Don’t think you’re going to get away with this,” he stated.
‘”I noticed he was getting agitated swearing at me, asking for my nationality. I refused to answer because he obviously saw my mask said, ‘stand up against racism’ and obviously he had an issue with that.”
It’s then George says the primary punch was thrown.
The scuffle was caught on George’s digital camera.
“Get out, get out! You just hit me in the jaw, get out,” George is heard saying within the footage.

He dialed triple zero.
“After five times of getting hit, I was like ‘enough’s enough,” he stated.
“I went to reach for the customer, to basically open the door for the customer and to try and move him away from me also,” George stated.
The passenger kicked George, and started punching his head.
“Just stop, please stop,” George yelled.
“He had my hand, he was chomping down on my hand and he wouldn’t let go. I thought my hand was being cut off because he was biting down that hard,” George stated.
“I’ve got a son, please stop,” George is heard saying within the footage.
The passenger finally acquired out.
A short while later, police say a 45-year-old man was discovered unconscious on the footpath and brought to hospital.
Police are but to put any fees.
“It’s going to be a while before I get functionality in my hands. It’s terrible – it happens to many rideshare drivers and it needs to be stopped,” George stated.
