A person has been arrested after a terrifying assault left a Perth Uber driver quickly blinded in one eye.
Dashcam footage allegedly exhibits the horrifying second Moiz, an skilled Uber driver, was assaulted and threatened by his passenger in Perth’s hillside suburbs on Sunday.
The rideshare driver picked up the person from a house on Clayton Street in Koongamia about 11.10pm.
Police will allege the passenger received into the automotive in “an aggressive manner”, then assaulted the driver, who aged in his 20s.
The alleged assault resulted in quite a few facial accidents.
The Uber driver on Monday advised 7NEWS: “He said, ‘I’m going to kill you tonight, you going to die tonight’.
“And with that 10 seconds at that time when he choked my neck and I can’t breathe, I say, ‘OK … I think it’s done’.
“At that time his finger gets into my mouth and I bite him, that’s why he removes his arm.
“I get out of the car, he runs behind me saying, ‘I’m gonna kill you tonight’.”
Minutes later the driver managed to return to his automobile and flee.
Police had been on the hunt for the alleged attacker and located him at a house in Wembley about 9.45pm on Monday.
The 22-year-old was charged with one rely of assault and one other of impeding an individual’s regular respiration or blood circulation.
He is anticipated to face Midland Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
