(*15*)This is what the Swag Cycle, an electric scooter, seems like that was stolen Sunday Afternoon outdoors of The Corner Bar in Downtown Natchez. Jane Weems mentioned her and her husband are providing a reward for its protected return. (Submitted Photo )
Jane and Sam Weems traveled from their house on Washington Street to the Corner Bar in Natchez Sunday afternoon with their Swag Cycle, parking it outdoors the bar.
Fifteen minutes later, Weems stepped outdoors and the electric scooter was gone.
“I walked back in and asked my husband where he put it. He said it’s right there. I told him ‘No it’s not’,” Weems mentioned.
Some vacationers sitting close by on the Depot informed her a slim, white male in a black and white t-shirt had gotten on the electric scooter and brought off, turning in direction of downtown round 4:30 p.m.
“We are asking people downtown to look out for it on their security cameras,” she mentioned. “If anyone has seen anything or someone, please contact us. There were people everywhere. Someone surely saw this person.”
The Weems are ready to supply a reward of $100 for the protected return of the electric scooter. They are checking the native pawn outlets and have filed a police report with the Natchez Police Department.
This scooter can carry one rider and isn’t good at going up hills, Weems mentioned. She mentioned it had 1 / 4 of a cost left, so she doubts it may have gone far within the downtown space. Additionally, she mentioned if somebody rode it to Under-the-Hill she doubts they may trip it again up.
“It’s a shame,” she mentioned.
If you might have any info or images of the suspect driving the bike please contact Weems at 318-381-4404.
