Jeep has a brand new electric scooter referred to as the RX200 heading your manner quickly, increasing the model’s presence on two wheels. But identical to with Jeep’s electric bicycle mission, it didn’t go it alone. This time the automaker teamed up with Razor to create Jeep’s first electric scooter mannequin.
The partnership and ensuing electric scooter was simply introduced this morning, with the mashup ensuing within the Jeep Razor RX200.
The duo claims that the scooter has the “style and feel of a Jeep Wrangler,” although we’ll depart that as much as you to determine. Either manner you slice it, the scooter is unquestionably arriving earlier than any potential electric Wrangler we’d see sooner or later.
Riding on 8″ pneumatic tires, the RX200 electric scooter is available in an olive drab colorway that harkens again to the WWII-era Willys Jeep.
The shade comes from a powder-coated metal body versus a conventional painted body.
The handlebars on the 39.5 lb (18 kg) electric scooter are adjustable and sport rubber grips with a twist throttle.
Jeep says that the scooter “was made to rip through the rough, off-road terrain,” but it doesn’t appear to be it is going to be doing so at terribly quick speeds.
The prime pace is rated at a mere 12 mph (19 km/h), which falls in need of many of the at the moment out there off-road electric scooters available on the market right now.
The RX200’s worth of simply $499 is perhaps its saving grace. Rider’s received’t get there quick, but they’ll positive do it for low-cost!
The low pace is probably going as a result of underpowered 200 watt motor that makes use of a series to drive the rear wheel. It’s a design we’ve seen on Razor’s smaller electric scooters earlier than and it looks as if they’re sticking to their weapons on the drivetrain.
There’s no suspension to talk of, but you do get some trail-lookin’ twin headlights. Braking is completed through a disc caliper on the rear wheel.

The RX200 seems to be designed for time, not a very long time. The 40-minute experience time is restricted by the 24V 7Ah lead-acid battery pack. With simply 168 Wh of battery from relatively outdated lead-acid know-how, the scooter isn’t meant for lengthy meandering cruises or all-day mountain path traverses. Instead, it’s doubtless greatest used as a leisure scooter for shorter excursions and pleasure rides.
Razor says the scooter is designed for grownup riders aged 18 and up, although the load restrict of simply 154 lb (70 kg) means there’s going to be a considerably slender window of adults who match the rider window.
While there’s lots of Jeep branding on the scooter, the DNA appears to be largely Razor.
As Razor Scooter’s president Jim Wagner defined:
“Razor is always looking for creative ways to excite our riders and provide an exhilarating adventure. We are thrilled to collaborate with the iconic Jeep brand to create the Razor Jeep RX200, which is powerful enough for off-road capability to go explore the outdoors.”

I’m not fully positive what makes the Jeep Razor RX200 completely different from Razor’s current RX200 scooter that seems to have the identical specs but is priced at $318 on Amazon proper now. Besides the Jeep stickers and twin headlights, there doesn’t seem like a lot else lacking.
Compared to the final electric two-wheeler we noticed Jeep companion on, the Jeep Razor RX200 is a relatively low energy providing.
The QuietKat partnership that resulted in a high-power and high-speed electric mountain bike that was doubtless nearer to Jeep Wrangler territory, although you can purchase 10 of those electric scooters for the value of 1 Jeep e-bike.
Electrek’s Take
It’s nice to see Jeep increasing their electric bike and scooter presence, but this doesn’t seem like the thrilling experience I assumed it was going to be.
Maybe the facility score is under-spec’d and maybe it feels fairly highly effective in actual life. Without having examined it, it’s onerous for me to vouch for the scooter’s off-roading deserves.
From the appears to be like of the spec sheet although, I’m questioning how nicely this factor can carry out on actual trails.
But who is aware of, perhaps it’s a Jeep factor?
