A man was punched to the ground in a ‘unprovoked’ attack close to a canal in broad daylight.
The surprising incident occurred at round 11.20am yesterday (Tuesday) as the sufferer was strolling alongside the Bridgewater Canal together with his accomplice.
The pair have been strolling on the path close to to Park Road in Timperley when a younger male approached them then attacked the 61-year-old man.

He was punched to the ground by the stranger, police mentioned.
The sufferer was taken to hospital from the scene with critical accidents to his face.
The attacker fled the scene on an electric scooter.

He is described as being aged in his late teenagers or early 20s and is of thin construct and round 5ft 7in tall.
He has gentle brown hair and was carrying a black tracksuit and a small black cross physique bag which was seized at the scene.
No arrests have been made.
